Office of the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Department of CD, WD & SW, Govt. of West Bengal organised an AwarenessProgramme on facilities/concessions provided to Persons with Disabilities by Transport Deppartment on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan on 18th August, 2016 at Karunamoyee Bus Stand, Salt lake, Kolkata from 10.30 am to 2.00 pm. The programme aimed at sensitizing the officials with the difficulties faced by the Persons with Disabilities in Public & Private Transport. Smt. RoshniSen, IAS, Secretary, Department of CD, WD & SW inaugurated the programme.
150 persons with Disabilities, teachers, parents from 25 organisations participated in the programme and tied Rakhi to the Dignitaries during inauguration. PwDs tiedRakhi to the Police, Bus drivers, conductors, Auto drivers, Taxi drivers to sensitize them with the difficulties faced by them in public & private transport.
