Women Development & Social Welfare Department allotted Rs. 40.50 lakh for the year 2014-15. Under this scheme. 1245 persons with disabilities were provided with Aids and appliances such as wheel chair, tri-cycle, hearing aid, sewing machine, musical instruments, DVD player, iPod, Multimedia Print Reader etc. centrally through the office of the Commissioner (Disabilities) in Kolkata Municipal Corporation Area and in Districts on the basis on requisition received from the districts. Distribution Camps were held in most of the districts.
